was this it then?
a shudder
and a cellphone sort of disintegrating
at the bottom of the ocean?
little plaques with dashes, commas, semicolons..
and a tear stain..?
no make ups or do overs?
or round the ways again?
just a 30 second stroke of genius
where “oh” meets “very well then..”

This is why you’re a favorite poet of mine whose work I love to read: multi-layered with many possible interpretations (end of the world, end of a relationship, et. al.) and simple, yet complex. I very much like the dialogue included.

Sometimes I like your work because I don’t know what the hell you are talking about.
I like to make people wonder too. 😉

Brilliant. Stroke of genius is when you put words on paper. God, I love reading your work.
