slick tongue over palate
trying to recollect
even a fragment
of a notion
of a feeling
almost felt.
poured over whiskey
stump of oak
laid bare
barrel aged
oblivion
swallowing
regret.

Oh thank you for the invite. I don’t do the challenges too much because it’s hard for me to write on command but I appreciate the thought. 🙂

I’m wondering what it’s like to almost feel a feeling. Reminded me of almost being pregnant 😊

haha, well you can’t almost be pregnant! However, I do think I have almost felt something.. like almost a memory or a phantom of a feeling. I hope that makes some sense! haha.

What an excellent and evocative piece. It’s lovely to see what real poets come up with, not the likes of me who occasionally hack around with haiku in between writing stories! Thank you for stopping by this week and following my blog – I hope you’ll enjoy it and I look forward to reading more of your work. Cheers, Nik
