“A black hole is a place in space where gravity pulls so much that even light can not get out. The gravity is so strong because matter has been squeezed into a tiny space. This can happen when a star is dying.
Because no light can get out, people can’t see black holes. They are invisible.”
this is NASA’s official explanation of a black hole.
silence is much like a black hole.
in a small space inside ourselves is a quiet, pulling in everything we know.
eventually this quiet collapses and leaves us nothing,
not even the memory of a hole.
personally, I like to think of myself as fleshy Tupperware.
sealing in freshness.
hoping for rebirth.
i am leftovers
but I am left over.
this is the kindness of repression.
a sort of light that has found its way out of a black hole.

Bending light to devour all matter it’s a difficult way to live.

I had heard that every galaxy has a black hole at its centre, and recently it has been observed that black holes give out huge blasts of radiation which may counteract the gravitational pull, in essence regulating itself. I like to think of a black hole as a mother keeping her family together albeit on a cosmic scale 🙂

Haha that’s a really cute way to look at it. I have seen those studies, it’s really interesting to see how it’s progressed from something we’ve feared as a destructive force to something that we acknowledge as necessary for balance in our galaxy. Lovely, really.

Everything has its counter balance, equal and opposite I guess 🙂

Great post about black holes. From a subject as deep as black holes to Tupperware. Not many can make this transition.

I do not want to be that one weirdo, but did you intend to have that lower case I included? Is there like a philosophical/poetic meaning to it?

Oh yeah, totally. If only to bug one person out there. 😉

haha no but seriously, yes. It’s meant to be diminutive.

kind of like: “i am leftovers//but I am leftover”
It adds strength to the second statement. Does that make sense?

Oh yeah, like when referring to yourself as i would mean that you have low faith in yourself- like you are the leftovers- while referring to yourself as I would be more personal. I get it now.

Exactly! I do that a lot. It usually goes unnoticed so thanks for noticing. :))))

more like, what you try to attain in the heart of a meditation. the part that is you after all the rest fades away. I really do like this piece. it’s .. got that feeling I like, that tastes/feels like the space between the stars.

Loved this one too.. The way you related the black hole to silence, and it reminded me of something I wrote some time back. Hawking Radiation is the only ‘radiation’ that can escape from a Black Hole. But in actuality, it’s the radiation that is GIVEN OFF by the black hole. Though I expressed a different idea and story, you might like the idea:-
