the throb of disco is never far away
it lingers in this city
even in the green pallid suburbia
where we hide from concrete disarray
i often find myself swaying
near the marble bar tops
and I think
my arms must look palm fronds
jolting with a storm
and it makes sense
after all,
I’m embedded here
planted in this warm earth.

I enjoy the juxtaposition of city and nature in this poem. Well done.
