elicit response

I ticked the headline.
wrote the verbiage expected.
cemented paths of resistance awaited
“hold still and you’ll feel weightless”.

overwhelmed and skittish
I kept lapsing-
subject to dense friction
and tumultuous rejection.

I fought for so long
the thinly veiled lace
that we willfully wear
in lieu of wild thought
or heavy care..

best to strike the mass and
elicit response.
best to mar the herd and
hoard the rare.

  1. I really particularly enjoy the sensation in these lines – delicious flow and imagery –
    ‘I fought for so long

    or heavy care..’

    Splendid!
